Why Choose Our Products?

THE SCIENCE

Exploring The Actives

Biodermal Skin Tech selects and uses only the finest quality ingredients and actives in our skin care range. Based on their pharmacological action, bioavailability and effectiveness. Our products are formulated responsibly, and are cruelty free.

  • Antioxidants

Antioxidants, which are found in fruit and vegetables, protect skin by limiting the production of free radicals, which can damage skin cells. They can do a lot for the health and appearance of your skin, including reducing the signs of aging.

  • Exfoliants

Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the outermost layer of the epidermis. This helps to normalize cell turnover, which stimulates healthy skin growth and renewal.

Exfoliants affect this process by removing dry scales on the surface of your skin and stimulating a sloughing of dead skin cells in the stratum corneum (the top layer). This allows new healthy cells to come through and allows other layers of the epidermis to function properly.

  • Humectants

Humectants and emollients are two of the key ingredients in skincare products because of how they help our skin.

Humectants help attract water to the surface of the skin, as well as delivers hydration and nutrients to the deeper layers.

Emollients - Supple, waxlike, lubricating, thickening agents that prevent water loss and have a softening and soothing effect on skin.

  • Plant Extracts

Plant extracts are used in cosmeceuticals to influence the biological functions of the skin and provide the nutrients for healthy skin. They can be found in a variety of botanicals, which are rich sources of 50 vitamins, antioxidants, essential oils and oils, hydrocolloids, proteins, terpenoids and other bioactive compounds.

According to their composition, these extracts can provide different properties.

  • Vitamins

Vitamins and peptides are the building blocks of healthy skin.

Vitamins deliver a multitude of interactions such as antioxidants, exfoliants, emollients, conditioners, and anti-inflammatory agents.

  • Plant Stem Cells

Don't let your skin age before its time—Biodermal Skin tech is a revolutionary treatment that uses the power of plant stem cells to help your skin stay young.

Plant stem cells contain two key components: growth factors, which play a role in cell division, the growth of new cells, and the production of collagen and elastin; and proteins, which regulate that stem-cell division. When applied to your skin, these two components help firm wrinkles and slow the development of new lines.

  • Peptides

Your skin is made up of proteins and peptides—the fundamental building blocks of skin. Without peptides, skin doesn't remain intact, and the result is loss of firmness, appearance of wrinkles, texture changes, and skin that doesn't bounce back as it once did. Abundant research has shown that peptides can help revitalize those building blocks and, in turn, help revitalize skin.

  • Nano Technology

Nanotechnology is the branch of technology that deals with dimensions and tolerances of less than 100 nanometres, especially the manipulation of individual atoms and molecules. The prefix nano- can be applied to a wide range of disciplines because it means “a billionth” in Greek. It is used as a multiplier to indicate the scale of something, such as nanometre (nm) or nanogram (ng).

Nanotechnology has developed from studying quantum physics, which studies fundamental properties of matter at the atomic level. It was first introduced by Richard Feynman at the California Institute of Technology in 1959. He said: “There is nothing in biology today that cannot be understood by thinking about it in terms of molecules and atoms.”

  • Nano particles

What's the secret to deep-down, lasting skin care?

We'll tell you: It's all about getting your actives where they need to go. And, if there's a better way to do that than using nanoscale versions of ingredients and delivery vehicles like liposomes and noisomes, we don't know what it is.

Liposomes are derived from phospholipids and are used in the cosmeceutical industry as delivery vehicles for certain actives that would otherwise struggle to penetrate the epidermis. Noisomes are also derived from phospholipids but use a different delivery mechanism—they're muscimols (a type of neurotoxin) attached to phospholipid molecules that allow them to pass through cell membranes. These noisome vehicles deliver their payloads with maximum efficiency, allowing you to get the most out of your active ingredients.

  • Plant seed oil bodies

Oil body technology is a unique method of delivering active molecules through the stratum corneum. We use oil bodies that are derived from seeds as active delivery systems, and we make sure that our oil bodies are always up to date and effective at carrying out this task.

In order to understand how it works, we have to first look at what an oil body is. Oil bodies are small lipid-rich structures found in plant seeds (and some other parts of plants). They play an important role in seed physiology, as they help the seed resist drying out and prevent germination until conditions are right for it.

Oil bodies can also be used as delivery systems in topical products. This allows us to carry certain small molecules through the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of skin) with ease. In addition, because they are rich in lipids and fatty acids, they can also carry larger protein molecules through this layer.

Oleosin technology uses these specialized structures to improve how our products work on your skin.

  • Philosophy on sun protection

We're so excited to share our philosophy on sun protection!

When it comes to protecting your skin from the sun, you want to make sure you're doing everything you can. That's why every one of our day moisturizers contains active ingredients that absorb UVB and short-wave UVA (ultraviolet) rays in order to protect the skin from direct DNA damage. A sun protection factor of 20 is applicable in our moisturisers. For extra protection, our Sun Protection product with higher SPF, can be applied.
